Spanish Curriculum

Not merely the language of Spain and Mexico, Spanish is also the language of most of our neighbors in Central and South America. Today there is an ever-increasing demand for knowledge of Spanish. There are currently over 45 million Spanish speakers in the United States. Spanish is used in business and numerous professions/trades both abroad and domestically.

In our Spanish curriculum, we offer two tracks for students: Honors and College Preparatory.

HONORS SPANISH: Those students who take Honors Spanish will participate in Pre-AP activities and assignments; they will move at a faster pace and complete more units of study. This track is recommended for the highly motivated student.

COLLEGE PREP SPANISH: Those students who take the college preparatory track will improve their communication skills in the Spanish language but they will not move at the same pace as their peers in the honors program. Generally, students in this track are not recommended for AP Spanish.

For detailed course descriptions, see the Program of Studies.

PLEASE NOTE:

--If a student would like to change his/her pathway moving up or down a level, it is imperative that the student receives approval from his/her teacher.
